Alva’s in a Deep Funk

Can’t seem to get Alva out of her deep funk. It all started yesterday when she heard that the Democrats had agreed to speed up consideration of that pipeline for oil which, if approved, would run from Canada to Texas. Also she understood that the House conservatives want to cut back unemployment benefits some forty weeks–from 99 to 59 weeks. But what really got her boiling was when today she read how Speaker Boehner and the House isn’t willing to extend the payroll tax cut for even just another two months.

So all Alva’s been doing all day is muttering around the office about how what the House is doing will probably mean a thousand dollar tax increase for just about every worker in America next year.

Yup. Alva’s so put out by it all I think that if she could spit nickles she would.

Meantime, my concern is that ALVA Press has got to get those newsletters out about Kristen Henderson’s book of poetry, Drum Machine before January its release date!

Still Alva Press, Inc., is determined. So this afternoon I took matters into my own hands and called up Chelsea and she’s coming in tomorrow and together we’ll see what we can do.

Except neither of us can hold a candle to the work of Alva the Indie–when she’s on. I just hope tomorrow she wakes up on the other side of the bed.
